Popolamama Mal Taman Anggrek Jakarta Review

I always feel bad whenever I'm writing a bad review. It feels like I hold personal grudge to the restaurant. But it isn't. I just feel very disappointed that I need to share :(

I've seen Popolamama signage months ago replacing Ajisen Ramen at Mal Taman Anggrek. I wasn't interested bcs I thought it would be as mediocre as Ajisen. But then my friends at social media started to post "sweet pizza" at Popolamama Sudirman and I thought "Hey, Taman Anggrek has this place also." So when my brother asked me to have lunch there today, I said okay. Needless to say, I'd rather eat somewhere else.

First, I should say the service is terrible. When we got in, somehow only our table wasn't prepared with utensils, plates, tissues, ketchup, and basically everything. It's just table.

Brother ordered Pasta Set Menu A (IDR 70k); consists of Pasta of your choice (limited to only Bolognese, Tuna Aglio Olio, and Soy Sauce Beef, Spinach, and Rucola), Mini Salad, and choice of beverage (Coffee, Tea, or Iced Lemon Tea). Brother picked Bolognese & Iced Lemon Tea.
I ordered Cream Based Pasta with Beef, Spinach, and Rucola (IDR 52k) and also Iced Lemon Tea (IDR 20k).

Wait until 5 minutes with many waiters passing by, no one realized we weren't equipped with utensils. I had to raise my hand and asked for it. But what you asked is what you get. Only utensils and still no plate or everything else, while other tables are fully equipped -_________-

Spaghetti Bolognese & Cream Based Spaghetti with Beef, Spinach, and Rucola

I've always loved Rucola when it's cooked right. But this one is probably very raw with very tangy scent and I had to hold the urge of mini vomit everytime I put a spoonful in my mouth. Pasta was chewy and dry, no taste of cream. Only the beef had the cream absorbed -_- Bolognese was also very plain according to my brother, and we had to ask for Ketchup & Chili Sauce to get this through our throat.

Right after the waiter put this down, he took away our receipt (the paper you stick in customer's table to monitor all the orders) and said, "All of the orders have come out ya." And left wtf. We had to call him back to say that our pizza hasn't come ... And he said, we ordered no pizza. Earlier the waitress that took our order didn't bring any piece of paper and just memorize things I thought she's so capable but turns out, she missed the pizza omg...

We had to re-order. Brother was still eager to try the pizza, while all I wanna do just leave right away.

The only good thing in this disappointing lunch. Even though the topping more or less is the same like Domino's Pizza Deluxe Cheese, but the dough is definitely better. 

Popolamama is pretty much like Pasta de Waraku, except no matter how bad Pasta de Waraku is, it's still better than this -_-

Carnivor PIK Jakarta Review

Meatballs Spaghetti (served with Cranberry Sauce)

Meh.

Is a review allowed to only have a word? Lol. 

Okay background story. I was wanting to try a pasta with Pesto sauce and I read here and there that Carnivor serves Pesto Pasta with Grilled Chicken. I was very excited and decided to went there, even though bf already gave early warning that this place is meh. (He went once before me and even though Carnivor is specialized in meat, bf said the steak is bad)

I still want! Because all the reviews are so good but when I was handed the menu... It's not there. I even asked the waitress, which look confused, and said grilled chicken pasta is served but not with pesto sauce fml.

So I'm forced to pick this because there are no other pasta that caught my fancy and also order calamary hoping it will be good. But no. Meh. The pasta itself is overcooked, meatballs are tasteless, the mushroom cream sauce is savory but overwhelmed with MSG... Meh.. This place is just meh. I don't know it's because I had such a high expectation before, but I really can't find anything nice.

Nanny's Pavillon at Central Park Mall

Geez what a plain picture!

Tadahhh :) Will be reviewing Nanny's Pavillon for today's post! At first I thought it's named Nanny's Pavillion. But I was wrong lol.

I was having lunch in here with my best friend and my brother for um.. a super late birthday treat? Haha.
Nanny's Pavillon is famous because of its decoration. Each of its restaurant has different theme. Nanny has 6 stores already. It was first established at Bandung, West Java, as a conceptual French American pancake restaurant. As we speak now, they have already opened 2 stores in Bandung and 4 in Jakarta! Kindly refer to its official Facebook page for detail of addresses, themes, and contact numbers.

I was having this lunch at Central Park Mall ground floor. Located next to One Piece Hair Studio, inside of Sogo Department Store. Central Park's Nanny's has Terrace theme. It's filled with white wooden chair with green leaves around those chairs. And very cute bench looking like a swing! It just doesn't swing around -_- And as I eat on broad daylight, it really feels like you're in an actual terrace. However, I wonder what the Garden theme looks any different with Terrace ;D

It was full at the inside seating when we arrived. It is lunch time anyway. Almost half past one. The outside seating still had like 1 or 2 tables available but I insisted to sit inside, since well... You've been on Nanny's which is famous for its decoration. Outside tables is just like a plain Central Park garden; tables, chair, no decoration. Didn't want. And we luckily got 1 table inside. Only a plain white table and chair *sobbing* It's quite disappointing but then one family moved and we got the very cute bench looking like swing seats!!!!

I was taking the pic of this menu because I think it has unique drawing and texture. BUT! Then I found this website. The official website of Nanny's Pavillon with great animation here. And it provides the menu book perfectly and exactly like the original. Except, you can't touch it -_- well that won't be necessary either.

I'M A FAIL BLOGGER!!! Ermm yea we were so thirsty we already share this drink to us three. Wait. The waitress distributed it :D This is Nanny's Cocktail. Comes with 2 choices of flavor. As the color shown you may have been guessed that this is the Mango. The other one is Blueberry. The menu says it fits for 4 persons. I drank this for 3 still think it's not enough :p

This is the drink after being distributed by the waitress. (Cute glass!) It has fruits all over. Strawberry, mango, peach. But the quantity of the fruit slices compared with the liquid it's like 1:10. 1 is the fruit lol.

For the record when you are starving, never ever come here especially in crowded lunch time. They take years to bring out your order. But let's not be disappointed. The wait is worth it!

This is the very first food to come. Fettucini Bolognaise ordered by my bro. It's originally Spaghetti on the menu, but you can choose the pasta as you want :) Me and my best friend teased him that the waiter probably saw his hungry face so his order came out first or otherwise they'll be punched since bro is so big :p Lol. Also... it takes half an hour for the next order to come :| I was starving but I try to understand. Well, once again. If the food wouldn't worth the wait, it won't be easily forgiving ;)

Another bro's order -_- and I can't help it to steal bro's order. This is Heavy Alvin's Potato. I was thinking probably it's because I was super hungry that makes this appetizer tasted soooooooooooo delicious. But it IS delicious! The potato was perfectly deep fried like my grandma used to make back in my hometown :) Though the pouring of the lasagna sauce (or bolognaise sauce? Anyway it's super yummy minced beef with melted cheese) has made some part of the potato becomes a bit not crispy anymore.

At lastttttt. My order came. I ordered My Nephew Carter's Creamy Sausage. And I chose Fettucini for the pasta choice. OMG. Pasta heaven. The sausage is just fine. Delicious but more like a normal Germany sausage. But the fettucini! And the mushroom inside those fettucini mountain! And the cream sauce!! My goodness. I will never order pasta anywhere else. Ever. Only here and here and here. Bro seems to be drooling and stole mine. Ended up he can't stop eating my order! So he ordered another meal (!!) No wonder he almost reached 90kgs btw :|

This is the order by my bestest friend. Named Uncle Harold's Steak. She chose Fettucini also. It's like a Fettucini Day @,@ I tried hers and it's delicious. But not my type. There's a strong smell and taste of pepper? From the grilled steak I guess. But then she seems to enjoy it. And she's super honest so if it's not tasty she will just say it anyway.

Sorry for bad angle :( This is Chicken Mushroom Sandwich. Consists of French Fries, Homemade Bread (YUM!), Lettuce, Egg, Chicken, Mushroom, and lots of onions lol. The sauce inside I suppose it is Mayonnaise. I shared this with my friend. This is yummmmyyy. The onion part kinda disturb me. But I like the rest and I wanna eat it alone! :p Too bad I already been full because of the unbeatable Creamy Fettucini ♥

Last order of all! Bro's Smoked Beef Spaghetti. He's so tempted by my Creamy Fettucini yet he's ordering this almost dry spaghetti. He's so weird and labile -_- Didn't try it so I can't comment. But the beef looks really crispy and tasty :9

Anyway I feel sad that I can't order any dessert nor pancakes nor waffles :( Nanny's itself was first a pancake house. I think since I've been eating Pancious for 2 consecutive weeks, I didn't want it anymore and not really thinking it could fulfill my tummy at that moment. NOW I REGRET IT! :((

About the price it's affordable and for me it suits the portion and the taste so well :) I'm so dragging back my parents in here so they can pay me and my bro doing barbaric eating *_*

Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon

Am I being efficient or what? Watching and eating today and blogging it right away :p On diligent mood, people. Lol.

So for lunch is Pancious Pancake, again. The owner or whoever runs this place should give me free coupon or voucher or something :|

This is my main menu. Penne cooked with Creamy Marinara Salmon. The one my aunt ordered last week. And turns out it's a disappointment T_T Pancious can't cook Penne well. This menu sickens me -_- I was having worst nausea. Which is a pity since the sauce is really amazing. I should've just go with Spaghetti or Fettucini. The good side is it makes me realized that my order last week was perfectly cooked lol. Auntie also ordered Penne with Spicy Chunky Tuna, and disappointed -_-

The right one is mine. I really drank much to swallow those penne -_- On the background is a nasty couple lol. You can see the guy keep sniffing the girl then look around as if he's proud that he can sniff. My dog can sniff too if he wants a competitor. I'm just saying :p They're just so lame and why did they have to sit in front of me -_- Seriously I sat first on my table. Then they came like wtf. Err.. okay back to food.

-Nutty Pistachio Single Pancake with Chocolate Ice Cream-

It was my auntie's. The green sauce tastes nice. And I finally can breathe after sickening Penne :| It's like a mix of green tea, milk and pistachio. So I tempted and I ordered my own pancake ;)

-Strawberry-

Seriously. The menu only writes Strawberry. Well it's a single pancake with cuts of Strawberry fruit, topped by ice cream on your choice (I chose Vanilla since they don't provide Strawberry flavor wtf), and Strawberry sauce. A very Strawberry dish, I know. But it's DELICIOUS! Well Pancious, keep doing good job on your pancakes because they're AWESOME. Next time visiting I wanna try BBQ Chicken with Mashed Potato. A kid behind me was eating that and I saw when I entering the place. Got me drooling lol.

Then we watched Transformers. Which get me stunned for 2,5 hours. I'm so loving Josh Duhamel, Shia LaBeouf, and BUMBLEBEE. Oh and Optimus Prime in some way. There's also Patrick Dempsey starring. He's usually hot but his role in this movie doesn't show any hotness at all -_- Okay almost spoiler. Pardon :p (JOSH DUHAMEL WHY ARE YOU MARRIED TO FERGIE??! Okay ignore. He's just too HOT for a married man fml.)

After movie, me and auntie walking around to some stores. Samuel & Kevin sells good clothes this season. I just don't buy since I need to save money. Save, save, save. Pray me I'm strong.

Then Eaton for dinner. It's a bakery with restaurant. First time eating there, to be honest.

-Yang Chow Fried Rice-

Looks like noodles from afar --a Well this is fried rice. Tastes quite nice. I'm craving for it now since I didn't eat it all earlier. My tummy isn't being really good. The bad part of this fried rice is only the shrimp. I got 3 shrimps and all of them still has fishy smells and feeling. But the other complements are nice. It has shredded chickens, eggs as you can see clearly, carrots, sauteed bean, beefs and celery. Beans and celery look all the same -_-

On the bakery aunt bought me Dorayaki with Cheese-Chocolate filling. Favorite snacks since kids. And that makes the end of my day. Tomorrow I'll be going to Gandy Steak at Hayam Wuruk with my college friends. I don't think I'll have chance to snap food pics though. Lol. Until next post then ;)
